How does our brain encode the world to guide behavior? How does our previous knowledge about scenes and objects determine what and how we interpret the perceptual input?
In the VML, we are using behavioral and physiological methods (EEG) to examine these questions. Areas of research include how we combine contextual scene and object properties in order to identify visual objects. How do we integrate visual and auditory information in our knowledg about objects and people?
